I decided to make this a 'Favorite' to catch more peoples attention. These are the steps to FIXING mods on PC when they won't work in-game. BE CAUTIOUS, as you can corrupt your files, and you will have to re-install the game. Leave any questions you have in the comments below, and as always, expect more great content. Without further ado, here are the steps for fixing your mods. NOTE: THIS DOES NOT APPLY FOR NEXUS MODS. I will make a separate guide for that.
PREPARATIONS:
-On your DESKTOP, make a New Folder called 'Data Backup.'
The Fallout 4 SE folder has a Data folder with scripts inside, this Data folder must be manually installed into the Fallout 4 folder, otherwise Fourplay will not work properly. I havent seen anyone else mention this and see alot of people having trouble getting Four-play to work properly.
-In-game, DISABLE all mods, DO NOT DELETE THEM.
-Exit the game.
NOW READY TO START:
-Open the 'Computer' Shortcut.
-Open Drive (USB, Hard Drive) that has the 'Programs' folder.
-Find the 'Steam' folder.
-Find the 'Steamapps' folder.
-Find the 'Common' folder.
-Find the 'Fallout 4' folder.
-Find the 'Data' folder.
VERY IMPORTANT PART:
-Find and copy ALL mods in the 'Data' folder.
-NOTE: DO NOT TAMPER WITH FILES THAT SAY: 'DLC ROBOT, WORKSHOP, and COAST.' THESE ARE DLC FOLDERS.
-After copying all mods into the 'Data Backup' folder, DELETE the mod files in the ORIGINAL 'Data' folder.
IN GAME:
-Start up game.
-Go to the Mods Section.
-NOTE:IF ALL MODS ARE UNCHECKED, WE HAVE MADE PROGRESS.
-Exit the game.
BACK TO DESKTOP:
-Get back into the original 'Data' folder, like you did before.
-Copy ALL the mods from the 'Data Backup' folder.
-PASTE THE MODS back into the ORIGINAL 'Data' folder.
-Exit all tabs.
IM GAME(2):
-ALL MODS SHOULD NOW BE CHECKED AND IN WORKING ORDER.

So I've just recently bought fallout 4 on PC because I enjoyed the game on PS4 and wanted to mod it, I've been modding skyrim for a while now but this is my first experience modding fallout. I've come across a problem where a lot of the face overhaul mods just don't seem to register for me, and the ones that do turn up just come out brown with the completely wrong hairstyles (except for the keke-bu All-in-one Pack). I've installed the required mods first every time and I don't know what's happening. Loot says my load order is fine and over use FO4edit as well.
All my other mods work fine and I even installed the 'High Res DLC Black Face Fix' from the nexus, I've also come across a problem where my F4SE will try to run fallout but the game will just stop responding before even entering the loading screen. Any help would be a godsend right now.Load order:Mod List:(also apparently THEEYESOFBEAUTY.esp is missing when its installed):. I don't know if you've sorted this out yet, but the black face bug is caused by running face textures that don't match the resolution of the base game (or HRDLC, whichever you're running).
FO4 expects the textures to match that resolution, and if they don't, black face bug. There are some mods that try to mitigate the problem, but none of them can really make it all go away without you sorting that bit out first: )Also, LOOT is basically busted for FO4, so don't expect it to fix major load order issues like it does in Skyrim.
